Pssst! J. Cambpell Shoes and More!

On a whim, I popped into Strawberry’s in Union Square, NYC. And this store really has come a lonnnng way. For those of you who don’t know about Strawberry’s. It’s like a lower end Marshall’s. You don’t really go in there for the clothes (although sometimes you find a few diamonds in the rough), you go into the store for the SHOES! Brands like Jessica Simpson, Lovely People, Chinese Laundry, Steve Madden and now JEFFREY CAMPBELL! I nearly passed out! I was in the store with my girlfriend Pauliana and I gasped! It was like I was in a tunnel and these Jeffrey Campbell shoes were the light! I said Pau, they have, J Campbell shoes!!! And of course they didn’t have my size!! But, that doesn’t mean I wont let you into my secret shoe spot and help you find a pair of your very own before it’s gone!

The Jeffrey Campbell they had in stock was the Foxy Nite Heel-Less Shoe for $125.00!!! Original price $169.95 elsewhere.

And why not add that I also found these Evangel by Jessica Simpson shoes for $89.00. This same shoe can be found for $110 to $98 elsewhere.

Merry Go Round Shoes

OMG. Going back to my Louis Vuitton Fashion Show obsession. I fell in love with the heels. Just gorge. At first, again, I felt like is this for me? For my age group?! Yes! Yes! Yes!! These would be sooooo cute with pastel skinnies or a nice spring dress. It’s so whimisical.

Not to mention the captoe look. LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE! Modern update to the classic pump!

Illegal Lengths Mascara Not So Illegal

I am such a product whore. Ok, so I diddddd get sucked in by the fancy commercial of Maybelline Illegal Lengths. The product claims to build length and add fiber extensions close to 4mm long. I have pretty thick and a decent length without mascara. So I was disappointed. I learned my lesson. I will not deviate from my two go to mascaras. I am a faithful buyer of these two mascaras and co-sign it:

Benefit -They’re Real Mascara. Available in two sizes. The small one is $10 bucks and the larger one is $22 bucks. Worth every single penny ladies. It is sooo dark and black and separates every single lash and makes it look sooo dramatic. I have converted many to Benefit, so why not my readers!

They're Real! Mascara

and Mark- Lash All You Want Mascara. I know, I know its Avon. I am telling you, this isn’t your mom’s Avon anymore. I love Mark products. This mascara is $10. It has the same effect as the Benefit brand but larger quantity for the money and comes off easier when removing. I have two waiting for me. LOL. Yes I stock pile mascara. LOL. Cant get enough.

Maybelline unfortunately, didn’t cut it for me. I feel that it this product is for a woman who has barely there lashes. You pretty much have to double up and wear a thickening mascara and the Maybelline for it to look fab. So if you have thick or full lashes no need to buy this product. But do try the above. The links take you directly to buy them. If you do buy from Avon, and if asked, Melissa referred you. (and no I don’t get any commission for referring you, LOL).

It’s Black or White.. Which One Do I Choose?!!!

Which one should I choose. This dress by ASOS  on ASOS is on sale! $50!!!!!! I love the double collar (aka peter pan collar) and piping and I just dont know which one to get!

Help me choose one before it sell out!

I also bought this one just because.. $35!!! It’s kind of trashy, but I like it! LOL! Fcuk it! Ooops. did i kinda curse. Just a little bit. :)

In Love With The Wrong Dress

My sister needed something to wear for Easter Sunday. I let her pick out some stuff that she loved and I picked out what I loved. We settled on two outfits. One she loved, one I loved. It was down to which one she felt good in and she picked her choice. I felt like she should have chosen my choice which was a textured cami and a nice tulip skirt (which needed to be tailored  a bit as she is thin). However, she chose this nice sheath as I knew she would. She fell in love with it on the hanger. She tried it on, it needed work, but totally workable. Not my first choice. She went home sat with it, and decided ultimately that she was no longer in love with the dress. She didn’t feel that WOW she felt at the store. It happens…

So last week Thursday, I decided to go shopping w/o her. I popped into H&M and score! Found her a new dress! I knew she would be happy! It’s this neon pinkish dress and I found this cool gold belt. I decided that she needed two to stack one on top of another. Turned it around so the loops are in the back. It needs a little tailoring (like adding a stitch or two to hold the belts in place so that it doesn’t droop). I lent her my bag and chain to complete the look just in case she doesn’t find anything she loves on her own. The bag and shoes are 3 years old from Aldo’s. Is that vintage? LOL. j/k.

I then told her, SHE IS NOT TO COME SHOPPING WITH ME! LOL. No influencing my judgment! I know best! I knew she would have a change of heart. Although her choice was very workable and classy, it just wasnt her! This is her!

As soon as she tried everything on at my place… All smiles.. I knew I got the right stuff for her!

A Funny Thing…

Welp, I am a total clutz and I can admit it. LOL. I have this new short haircut but the front of my hair is on the longer side, so my curling wand doesnt curl it properly. I have this large curling iron that is very very old that still allows you to adjust the temperature manually. You also have to let it warm up for 10 minutes (ladies you know exactly what I mean). So I finally got to the front of my hair and opened up the curling iron and noticed it was hotter than usual so i just blew on it. I then proceeded to curler the front of my hair and as soon as I clamped it, my hair started to smoke! Ahhhhh! Was it on fire?! I put heat protectant (after the fact LOL). I check the temperature on it, 500 DEGREES!!!!!!! WTF! I singed my hair. It is fried!!! Deep fried! Thankfully my hair is thick and moist, because if it was very fine or dry/coarse I would def have no hair. I am sure it would have snapped right off!

The moral of this story is, check the hot curler setting BEFORE you put it on your hair!

Xoxoxo

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2012/2013 Full Fashion Show

Reblogged from DJ ORATOR:

Louis Vuitton Train Reportedly Cost $8 Million

I reblogged this from a really cool blogger, the famous DJ Orator, and was blown away by his find! This full video from Louis Vuitton's Runway Show was insane. The train that comes down the runway and the men holding the womens bags.... Thats how you play up chivalry and drama. My fave, Marc Jacobs' modern take on the mary jane, the oxford pump and regular pump was to die for. The heels were so gorge! I saw this show via a picture slide show a few weeks back and I have to say I wasnt impressed. But when I saw this 12 min video and got to see how the fabric moved, the bags glistened in the light  and the shoes, I changed my tune. Amazing show. And no I am not saying that because he had a train come down the runway. LOL.

Naked & Invisible – Andreia Chaves Heels!

So I stumbled upon these AMAZING shoes unexpectedly while looking for Jeffrey Campbell shoes on Solestruck. HAVE I BEEN LIVING UNDERNEATH A ROCK? Sadly, I have <drooping my head down in shame>. Andreia Chaves and the invisible shoe and now the naked shoe, have got to be one of the most amazing modern shoes designs I have seen (in my humble opinion, aside from McQueen and the armadillo shoe). And I don’t think I ever have said this about a shoe before but the Naked Shoe has got to be worth every single penny of the $2,795.95 and $,3,995.95 price tag. It’s wearable art! Can’t say I will ever own one unless I win the Lotto, but this may go on a bucket list! Because Andreia Chaves, you will have a long wonderful career ahead of you and I plan on owning a pair before I die. LOL. These shoes are so amazing and innovative!  Stalking these shoes HARRRD!

Fashion Star -1/2 a Star!

Fashion Star aired last night and I have to say I am on the fence about it still. I liked the show’s premise, but something was lacking. OH WAIT, I KNOW, creativity from its designers?… I know I am being overly critical at a show still at its infancy stage but I have to be honest. Not entirely impressed. I got tons of messages about watching this show. And I will tell you what I told them, before I blog about it, I need to see what it’s about. I am curious to know why they chose Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson as mentors. The one thing I did love was the African American Buyers for H&M and MACYS! LOVE!

I am not saying that there wasn’t any standouts in the crowd. There were. But I can’t help but feel like it was missing that wow factor as a show and great designs by its chosen designers. Some of the garments were not constructed well and a lot  of it was been there, wore that-ish. But it’s only teh first episode and I hope the challenges become more creative. I had a conversation with my best friend about this. Without getting into too much detail. He said not everything needs to be couture and dramatic especially with the stores that will be selling the line. My stance is that I love drama, but that doesnt mean I can’t appreciate simplicity when well constructed.

Nonetheless, here are my faves picked up by H&M and SAKS.

Sara Parrott’s deign was on trend. It is really cute and wearable I would totally wear this to work. I love the sleeves and cut-out on the back. Gives it a little sexiness! They do have this in black and is available at H&M locations.

Nzimiro Oputa’s Jacket was geniously selected by the H&M buyer. his jacket is great! And men, do take notice. Women want to see you in this! Trust me! Want to know how to wear it, email me!

And I can’t forget the zip skirt that everyone is talking about by Orly Shani.  It is available here for purchase. $350.00 (overpriced much?)
