Target + Prabal Gurung

I think this has to be the first designer collaboration with Tar-Jay that I am actually excited about! What I love about this collection is the wearability, the clothing do not look cheap at all (because face it, some of Target’s other collabo’s weren’t the greatest), the shoes, clutches, colors and patterns and wellllll that its Prabal Gurung! Prices begin at $14.99 and go up to $49.99. However, the most expensive piece is a blue leather jacket at $199.99. Mark your calendars ladies because Feb 10th it’s coming to a Tar-Jay near you!

Here are my favorite picks from the collection:

Awesome Gift Idea

Fashion Cloners,

Not sure what to get the bestie or co-worker for Secret Santa/Christmas? Loooooving this Cynthia Rowley zip around, carry-all oversized wallet! On a Christmas gift hunt for my girlfriends, I saw this girl put it down. Hmmmm… A clutch I thought? Nope. A wallet. In desperate need of a new wallet (mine is so old and worn and beat the hell down) and having a $50 dollar gift card, scooped it right up. Thank you! TJ Maxx $40.00.

Fan of the nail design? Sally Hansen nail strips! $10 bucks. It’s really easy and simple to use. My only gripe is, they need more in between sized strips. My nail bed is wide so some didn’t cover my nail entirely. But nonetheless, big compliments on my nails the whole weekend and today at work!

So I say, get a clutch or a nice oversized wallet and pop in a box or two of these nail strips and call it a day. Super cute and budget friendly!

Saffiano Zip Tote by DKNY. Office Bag!

Hi Fashion Cloners!

Long time no visitas. Tons of excuses but none worth mentioning. So back to the matter at hand.

I went to TJ Maxx yesterday and fell in love with a bag from DKNY. That looked super expensive. It was $129. Totally dirt cheap but walked away because: a) Jason is totally at his wits end with my shopping and b) no more space! So I walked away.

Went online to see original price $295.00! Can you believe that! I kicked myself in the arse for that. Lesson of the day follow your gut! What a friggin deal!

Find it at your local TJ Maxx! Totally for the career woman on the go. You can slip your flats in the bag, latest Vogue and Elle mags and a make up bag! It was so roomy!

Happy Sunday!

Clutches from Heavenly Messages

On my way to get my hair done I stopped by the church next door which appeared to be having a like a market day and showcasing all of their goods and having a sale. After scanning the tables, I came across these bags. Super cute and real leather. Jennifer Francis of Heavenly Messages designed these. There were a few pieces that are not pictured here that I loved for a few reasons but mostly because they were sold to someone else already! A funny thing about that. I got a little annoyed with another woman there who had her own table (and not affiliated with Heavenly Messages from what I could gather), decided that I couldn’t take anymore pics. LOL. I told her and Ms. Francis I was a blogger and I loved these bags and would like to feature them. So Ms. Francis allowed me to take pictures (and this is not a reflection of her or her company at all) and then AGAIN the same woman stopped me! LOL! Telling me that is all.. Gee.. LOL. I guess she thought I was trying to steal Ms. Francis’ design? LOL. I don’t know. But anyway, I wish I could have taken more photos for you all so you can see the wonderful work she does. I have her line sheet and her business card and will be making an order or two for gifts for people. :)

The thing I really love about the clutches is the pop of colors and design. It kind of reminds me of my Aldo clutch in function (not design). Where you can fit a lot of stuff in it (lipstick, mirror, wallet, nail polish, emergency kit lol) and then fold it over and still look and feel compact.

If you like any of these bags, contact hvnlymessages@aol.com.

Beacon’s Closet Run-In

So Operation Spring Clean Sale was a semi-success. I unloaded two pairs of shoes. I then decided to consign my Aldo’s platforms that I could not sell. Worked out lovely! Walked out with these laced-up peep-toe booties by Bakers for only $6 after my store credit!  So I’d say it was a good day.

On top of that I ran into my bestie, Sher and his boo ChrisClassiq in the area having brunch. So I snapped some pics of the stylish duo while they waited to be seated!

What I love about these looks is that is sooooo casz (casual) yet well put together. And I live for the loafers. Switching up from sneakers is always a do in my book!

Spiked shorts, Tie Dyes & More at LF Stores!

I obviously have been living under a rock because I had no idea about LF until I read the SpikesandSequins blog. I had never seen one in the city until earlier this week! I was walking by Fifth Avenue and 19th Street looking for the Lenscrafters and spyed spiked shoes in the window out the corner of my eye. I was like nooooo, it can’t be?! Has it been a block away from my office all this time? It sure has! So I popped in and saw they had the wedged sneakers came back the next day only to be sidetracked! More about that later down in my post.

Ladies, LF Stores  is your shop for all things girly but for that “different” kind of girl. The girl who likes spikes, feathers, short flared skirts, pretty girly but funky dresses or tight funky dresses. Florals, fringe, cutoffs and cutouts galore! Their selection of bags, shoes and accessories is amazing and full of bright colors while on the other spectrum of colors also had rich tans/browns (western/hippie).

I am actually in love with this store. They have other stores in LA, MIA, Boston and Dallas. For all you NYC gals, they have one in Chelsea, SoHo and Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn.

The Stuff:

J. Campbell Shoes!

Aren’t these cute!

This necklace is sooo cute!

I have plans for these shorts! Stay tuned for the Summer!

Just look at these prints.. Adorable!

Isabel Marant inspired Steve Madden sneakers. One of the original reasons why I came in was for a pair of J. Campbell versions. Both brands sold out in my size. Checking back next week. I know, I have no luck!

The Purchase:

This vest is sooo bad ass. I have a look I am going for with my booties from Beacon’s Closet and I KNOW this vest will be perfect. Pic of the whole outfit together when I wear it. I was trying on too small shoes praying for a miracle and my girlfriend picked it up and showed me this vest. Only one left! It had to be destiny. Have to have it.

I plan on doing two things with this. On a casual level, cool pair of jeans. maybe white T or reg T, throw this vest on and belt it.. Funky accessories and my booties. On the dressy side, I am going for a mini (saw this pic of the Balmain runway show and they totally glammed up denim with a gold mini-my inspiration), bustier (not sure what color yet), lots of accessories on my neck layered, place the vest on top, pop the collar, belt it, booties and go. Can I pull it off.. We shall seeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Happy Friday, happy hunting, and check out your local LF Store!
