Growing up in Park Slope, Brooklyn, I remember walking by Vinnies, every day, on my way back from school. I didn’t have a job back then so I did occasional browsing with my friends. YES! I was a window shopper! Don’t judge me! But let’s fast forward to now, with a larger flagship store, a store down in Atlanta, celebs/athletes/musicians as dedicated clientiele, I’d say Vinnies has made its mark. Located at the corner of Bergen Street and Flatbush Avenue, Vinnies is your high-end shop for men/teen boys (wishing for women stuff–hint, hint) looking for the cut above street wear.
The store itself stands out on its own. Very tidy and spacious with an open layout. The staff is friendly. To that end, there is nothing like having a welcoming feeling while with a kid in toe to me. Can’t tell you how many times I get the stink eye for bringing my kid in stores with me. Might I add that they actually remember their customers as well.
I’ve sidetracked.
Ok so, their pieces are stocked and arranged in such a way that you can look through the racks without feeling overwhelmed. Their clothes and footwear are carefully curated. I have bought a few things from here for my husband and son and have not been disappointed by their selections. You wont find many of these brands in your typical shops. It is definitely for that guy or girl (who like menswear) that want that edge. With brands that range from B Wood, G-Star, Y-3, Adidas, Alexander McQueen to name a few, it’s definitely a shop that has a little something for everyone at all price points.
The Store
