Peplum! Peplum!

Zara had their semi-annual sale and I was all in their racks and stocked up! I purchased this Peplum skirt for $40, among a few other items. We had a girls night out and saw Magic Mike and chowed down at Negrils in the West Village section of NYC. So it only made sense to dress somewhere in between casual and a notch or two below dressy. Throwing on my comfy wedges instead of stilletos and a cotton tank to pair with the skirt created that comfy look and feel that I was going for without looking like out of place and overdone.

Happy Tuesday!

Introducing…

I have a guest Blogger! Please welcome Chris Classiq. He will be working on a Men’s section for the blog and I am happy to have him on board. Keeping true to THE FASHION CLONES, he will be bringing deals, steals, high-end and vintage finds for all you men.

We recently went out to the Chanel exhibit in SoHo, NYC and here is what we wore:

Firstly, I am a big believer wearing shoes I love on the regular. These Steve Madden shoes have got to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased! Walked in them all day, yes I did!  I could have worn this fab tulip dress from Zara with red shoes and be typical but wanted to go for a cute stepford wife meets Michelle Obama.. :) . This dress cost $100 but you can find similar dresses at ASOS (one of my favorite stores) for less. This one below is on sale for $28.00

Cutsie 6 Inch Heel? I Think So!

Love my Aldo! And love these shoes. I love love love the piping on shoes and the neon color is such a great touch to a really cool and comfy t-strap heel. I plan on wearing a cute lil tulip dress from Zara with this. The heel is almost 6 inches tall! But dont fear, you have 1.63 inches in platform to make you feel like you are walking on cloud nine! POW hunnies! Do we like?  The shoe is called Detamble and can be bought here for $90.

Tip:  ALDO’s cuts (in my humble opinion), seem to be getting smaller (or my foot could be getting bigger or swelling.. LOL), so maybe try your size and then go a size larger to see what fits well.

Happy Hunting xoxoxo

In Love With The Wrong Dress

My sister needed something to wear for Easter Sunday. I let her pick out some stuff that she loved and I picked out what I loved. We settled on two outfits. One she loved, one I loved. It was down to which one she felt good in and she picked her choice. I felt like she should have chosen my choice which was a textured cami and a nice tulip skirt (which needed to be tailored  a bit as she is thin). However, she chose this nice sheath as I knew she would. She fell in love with it on the hanger. She tried it on, it needed work, but totally workable. Not my first choice. She went home sat with it, and decided ultimately that she was no longer in love with the dress. She didn’t feel that WOW she felt at the store. It happens…

So last week Thursday, I decided to go shopping w/o her. I popped into H&M and score! Found her a new dress! I knew she would be happy! It’s this neon pinkish dress and I found this cool gold belt. I decided that she needed two to stack one on top of another. Turned it around so the loops are in the back. It needs a little tailoring (like adding a stitch or two to hold the belts in place so that it doesn’t droop). I lent her my bag and chain to complete the look just in case she doesn’t find anything she loves on her own. The bag and shoes are 3 years old from Aldo’s. Is that vintage? LOL. j/k.

I then told her, SHE IS NOT TO COME SHOPPING WITH ME! LOL. No influencing my judgment! I know best! I knew she would have a change of heart. Although her choice was very workable and classy, it just wasnt her! This is her!

As soon as she tried everything on at my place… All smiles.. I knew I got the right stuff for her!

Forever and Ever 21

belt: Aldo- $35.00

Outfit of the day. Again understated fun dress. I had not been to Forever 21 in ages and decided I needed a few dresses and scooped this up! These shoes from Shoedazzle have got to be my fave booties.  For those who don’t know, Shoedazzle is a shoe club and you can join and get more info here. The belt from Aldo, I felt 3 years ago was overpriced, but I wear this belt all the time so money well spent. This dress can be worn in the spring. I have killer heels from Aldo that I plan to wear with it once its warmer. I really wanted to wear a big stand out necklace, but the belt was a little too much for all of that to go on. But if you did purchase a similar dress, you could belt it with a slimmer less jazzy belt and totally over embellish your neck!

Until next outfit!

Ciao Munecas!
