New Haircut!

New hairdo! I usually have my hair in wavy asymetrical bob but I decided to change it up a bit when Friday I could not get to my hair stylist at all. My gurlfriend washed and set my hair at home which turned out nicely and saved me some money too! I blew dry my hair straight on Sunday at the Dominicans for my cousin’s BBQ. Returned to work today and everyone thought I cut my hair and loved it straight! I didn’t cut it, but it looked different just because I wore it straight. So today on impulse, I went over to Seven Salon on 329 Rogers Avenue, Brooklyn, NYC and put my locks into Carla’s hands and she worked her magic. I love it! Next up, blonde pieces in the front next week.

Goddess Updo

Having a bad hair day? Why not try braiding your hair into a funky goddess updo. Start by creating a side part. Braiding your hair on each side (not too neat) and stop once you get to the nape of your neck. Bobby pin each side down so that it stays. take the remaining hair from both sides and twist them and create sort of a bun and bobby pin some more. Pull out small pieces of hair along the sides (hairline area) to create that goddess look and you have yourself a hairdo for bad hair days. No one will ever know.  What do we think?

When I do wear this hairdo I tend to wear long earrings. I purchased these at my hair salon for $5. Talk about one stop shopping!

A Funny Thing…

Welp, I am a total clutz and I can admit it. LOL. I have this new short haircut but the front of my hair is on the longer side, so my curling wand doesnt curl it properly. I have this large curling iron that is very very old that still allows you to adjust the temperature manually. You also have to let it warm up for 10 minutes (ladies you know exactly what I mean). So I finally got to the front of my hair and opened up the curling iron and noticed it was hotter than usual so i just blew on it. I then proceeded to curler the front of my hair and as soon as I clamped it, my hair started to smoke! Ahhhhh! Was it on fire?! I put heat protectant (after the fact LOL). I check the temperature on it, 500 DEGREES!!!!!!! WTF! I singed my hair. It is fried!!! Deep fried! Thankfully my hair is thick and moist, because if it was very fine or dry/coarse I would def have no hair. I am sure it would have snapped right off!

The moral of this story is, check the hot curler setting BEFORE you put it on your hair!

Xoxoxo
