The band-Kids These Days caught my attention! I havent been this excited about a band since the 90′s.  I was up at an ungodly hour watching Conan and the music just started. That was it. I froze. Who are these kids?! The horns, the guitar, the keyboardist, the drummer and the rapper. A group of 7. Making REAL music. Sounding unique, uninhibited, untainted. Owning the stage. Progressive music. Maybe the audience didn’t know who they were, hell, I didn’t even know who they were.. But now I do. KIDS THESE DAYS. NOW I DO! I am listening.

Check out “Spottie” performed on Conan. Give it a chance.. It is much more than rap. Listen to the horns, the guitarist especially when he is on vocals.. The singer-keyboardist as she sings… Her voice almost angelic… The rapper.. so thought-provoking… the fluidity of his rhymes..  Just listen and enjoy…

My anthem for today. This is one sick rapper/singer/everything. She was invited by Mugler to compose a track for their fashion show in Paris. Karl Lagerfeld wanted to meet her. She is followed by Kanye West and other celebs. She was at Coachella 2012 and killed her set! I am a true fan. Everytime I hear any of her songs especially this one, I just dance like I have no care in the world. It has that effect. Dont believe me? Here is the music video that started the Azealia Banks frenzy. It’s called 212. If this doesnt make you want to dance and get sexy I dont know what will. Happy Hump Day!

Sorry loves, for the not posting for more than a week. I have been deathly ill for this past week. And who knew that Bronchitis could knock you down for so long, speed up your heart rate, give you aches & pains in places you never knew you had and damn near kill you! Rule of thumb, stay home when you are sick! Dont push yourself to go anywhere!  I have had a hard time looking stylish while recovering. LOL.  Especially having this sweet fever blister on my upper lip as my temporary tattoo as I heal. Sexy aye?  LOL.

While in recovery, I heard this song, “I’m Gonna Dance” by Ayo. I love this song. I love new sounds and definitely people who don’t fit the mold of whats hot at the moment, but still hold their own. Ayo reminds me of Janelle Monae crossed with Santigold.  Here is her music video. I hope you love it as much as I do, like it, share it!

Check out that Indian head-dress (Bible I have something similar in my closet from a few years back from Top Shop) and I LOVE the flamenco part of her video.
