Coral Days + Katra Nights

Out and about in the LES in my coral colored dress from LF! (I was told the color suits me).

Last week I went to LF Stores annual sale. I am talking about 60% off their ENTIRE merchandise.  Brands like Jeffrey Campbell, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden and Dolce Vita can be found there and YES it is 60% off too! Hurry though, because once they clear out their merchandise…. well you know, that’s it! It’s done! The dress was originally $178 and I got it for about $60. I also purchased a pair of J. Campbell shoes and a mullet skirt. I love LF! They have stores in New York in Cobble Hill-Brooklyn, SoHo-Manhattan and Chelsea-Manhattan.

Enjoyed networking and meeting new people and bloggers at No Fun NYC located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Thank you to Andrea Castillo of A Life In The Day Of Andrea/ In The Mind Of Andrea for the invitation and Happy Birthday as well! You looked gorgeous!

Pictures are a litte dark due to lighting at the event. But iPhone pics should do!

Happy Thursday!

Beacon’s Closet Run-In

So Operation Spring Clean Sale was a semi-success. I unloaded two pairs of shoes. I then decided to consign my Aldo’s platforms that I could not sell. Worked out lovely! Walked out with these laced-up peep-toe booties by Bakers for only $6 after my store credit!  So I’d say it was a good day.

On top of that I ran into my bestie, Sher and his boo ChrisClassiq in the area having brunch. So I snapped some pics of the stylish duo while they waited to be seated!

What I love about these looks is that is sooooo casz (casual) yet well put together. And I live for the loafers. Switching up from sneakers is always a do in my book!

Spiked shorts, Tie Dyes & More at LF Stores!

I obviously have been living under a rock because I had no idea about LF until I read the SpikesandSequins blog. I had never seen one in the city until earlier this week! I was walking by Fifth Avenue and 19th Street looking for the Lenscrafters and spyed spiked shoes in the window out the corner of my eye. I was like nooooo, it can’t be?! Has it been a block away from my office all this time? It sure has! So I popped in and saw they had the wedged sneakers came back the next day only to be sidetracked! More about that later down in my post.

Ladies, LF Stores  is your shop for all things girly but for that “different” kind of girl. The girl who likes spikes, feathers, short flared skirts, pretty girly but funky dresses or tight funky dresses. Florals, fringe, cutoffs and cutouts galore! Their selection of bags, shoes and accessories is amazing and full of bright colors while on the other spectrum of colors also had rich tans/browns (western/hippie).

I am actually in love with this store. They have other stores in LA, MIA, Boston and Dallas. For all you NYC gals, they have one in Chelsea, SoHo and Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn.

The Stuff:

J. Campbell Shoes!

Aren’t these cute!

This necklace is sooo cute!

I have plans for these shorts! Stay tuned for the Summer!

Just look at these prints.. Adorable!

Isabel Marant inspired Steve Madden sneakers. One of the original reasons why I came in was for a pair of J. Campbell versions. Both brands sold out in my size. Checking back next week. I know, I have no luck!

The Purchase:

This vest is sooo bad ass. I have a look I am going for with my booties from Beacon’s Closet and I KNOW this vest will be perfect. Pic of the whole outfit together when I wear it. I was trying on too small shoes praying for a miracle and my girlfriend picked it up and showed me this vest. Only one left! It had to be destiny. Have to have it.

I plan on doing two things with this. On a casual level, cool pair of jeans. maybe white T or reg T, throw this vest on and belt it.. Funky accessories and my booties. On the dressy side, I am going for a mini (saw this pic of the Balmain runway show and they totally glammed up denim with a gold mini-my inspiration), bustier (not sure what color yet), lots of accessories on my neck layered, place the vest on top, pop the collar, belt it, booties and go. Can I pull it off.. We shall seeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Happy Friday, happy hunting, and check out your local LF Store!

Chunky Heels

I have become more and more mobile in these last weeks and I require cute sandals that will make it through walking long blocks and standing for long periods of time. Welp, I found a cute pair! While I ate at the greenspace in Union Square right accross from Steve Madden, I decided to pop in. They had 20-30% off what seemed like their whole stock. I fell in love with these chunky  heels. Unfortunately they didn’t have the blue ones so I took the blush colored ones. Do we like?

Here are the blue ones pictured in the store.

I paid $80 for these heels. But if you wanted to pay way less, Payless has an identical pair for at least $30 cheaper.

Happy Hunting

Tres Piezas

My girlfriend TJ said I looked western. I thought it looked more biker femme but I guess with the faux leather vest I could be a biker from the west? Anyway, total random pics. LOL.

I love this blouse. First time I wear it. Love the puffy sleeves and pussy bow tie (although not pictured tied).  The blouse could come off to some as very mature and date any look to back into the 80′s and 90′s when woman wore two piece suits with sneakers. LOL. But the print was just toooo awesome to pass up and I paid something like $8.95 for it! The vest was just to give it a punch of youth and instant update. Pants (not pictured in its entirety) were skinny black trousers from H&M as well.

Nail Polish: Essie- Navigate Her.

Going to Puerto Rico for a week. Was looking for my favorite go to vacation nail color by Essie-Turquoise and Caicos. Welp, my favorite mani spot in Brooklyn, Polish Nail on Fifth Avenue and Sterling Place didn’t have it anymore. ( cursing ) What makes it worse is that I own a bottle of Tuquoise and Caicos but figured they would have one. Anyway, I decided to try a spring green. I knicked it a bit because I can’t stay still too long in one place, especially to dry my nails.
Tsk, tsk, tsk Mel! And what a name Essie!

Shoes: Steve Madden – $100 after 25% off coupon. Lol. Yaaaassss hunnies even fashionistas use coupons. Xoxoxo

I love these Steve Madden pumps. They are super high and make me look super skinny! A few girlfriends thought I should mention it today. So why not!
